Flooding
April showers may bring May flowers, but they can also bring flooding. And with more climate change, the risk of flooding increases. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports an increase of 0.14 degrees each decade and sea levels have risen 5 to 8 inches over the last 100 years. These are just a few factors that bring an increased likelihood of flooding to your area this year.
Less than 5% of homeowners have flood insurance, but $62.2 billion in flood insurance claims have been paid out in the last 20 years. Flood insurance is a great way to make sure your home and property are protected in case of damage.
