Trees and Landscaping Coverage - Commonly Asked Questions

Question: One of my trees fell on my home during a storm. Do I have coverage for tree removal?

Answer: Yes, if a tree fell and damaged a covered structure, the policy provides up to $500 for tree removal. Note: The cost to cut and/or lift a fallen tree off of the "covered structure" and drop it to the ground is calculated as part of the cost to repair the "covered structure". The policy's $500 tree removal limit applies to the cost to remove the tree after it has been taken off the structure and dropped to the ground.

Question: One of my trees fell in my yard during a storm. Do I have coverage for tree removal?

Answer: Unless the tree damaged a "covered structure" (see question 1), the answer is "No". There is no coverage for trees that are leaning or for trees that fall onto other plants or lawns.

Question: One of my trees fell during a windstorm. Do I have coverage to replace the tree?

Answer: No. Trees are not covered for damage caused by the peril of "wind".
